History[]
Scott completed the piece on October 15, 2019. He uploaded it to his DeviantART page the next day. It was done as an entry in a contest on DeviantART.
Subject and title[]
This is an entry in a "Cosmic Corsair" Original Character Challenge contest at DeviantART. The purpose of the contest was to create an original space pirate character. Following is the description Scott listed on the artwork's DeviantART page:
Her name is Penelope Falco. She is the last surviving member of the Falco family bloodline, one of the remaining royal families of Earth. The rest of the Falco family was wiped out during the alien invasion. The emblem clipped to the end of her braid is a simplified version of the Falco family crest, and she wears it proudly. Even though the feather in her trusty hat is severely outdated, she wears it as a throwback to the "old days" of when pirates ruled the seas on Earth. That was around the time when the Falco family began it's rise to power. She lost her right arm in the invasion, so she now has a cybernetic arm as a replacement. Within that arm is a built-in ion cannon. That arm cannon is her weapon of choice and has gotten her out of many dangerous situations. She now travels the galaxy giving new rise to the Falco name.
