Scott completed the piece on July 11, 2019. He uploaded it to his DeviantART page the next day.
Subject and title[]
Scott wanted to draw a series of comic covers as if the classic RPG Chrono Trigger was published in comic book form, each cover depicting the events in the game's story. (Scott played Chrono Trigger on the Super Nintendo.)
In this issue, the story would be:
...the long and grueling journey through the Black Omen. After tying up loose ends and defeating the remaining enemies throughout time, the dreaded Black Omen is next on the list. The battle with Lavos nears. It's the fated hour.

Scott started out with a pencil sketch, then inked the final line work. He then scanned the drawing and added some digital work in Paint Shop Pro.
