Scott completed the piece on May 15, 2019. He uploaded it to his DeviantART page the next day.
Subject and title[]
Scott wanted to draw a series of comic covers as if the classic RPG Chrono Trigger was published in comic book form, each cover depicting the events in the game's story. (Scott played Chrono Trigger on the Super Nintendo.)
In this issue, the story would be:
...the quest for the Sun Stone. The team first acquires the Moon Stone from the Son of Sun, then place it in the Sun Keep in the prehistoric era to gather solar energy for millennia. (It goes missing at some point, but the team soon recovers it.) Picking up the fully charged Sun Stone in the distant future, they're able to create powerful weapons for the coming battle.

Scott started out with a pencil sketch, then inked the final line work. He then scanned the drawing and added some digital work in Paint Shop Pro.
