Scott completed the piece on March 16, 2017. He uploaded it to his DeviantART page the same day.
Subject and title[]
Scott wanted to draw a series of comic covers as if the classic RPG Chrono Trigger was published in comic book form, each cover depicting the events in the game's story. (Scott played Chrono Trigger on the Super Nintendo.)
In this issue, the story would be:
...the fight against Nizbel. After Crono and the gang defeat the creature, Azala reluctantly hands over the stolen Gate Key. So the team says good-bye to Ayla and leaves the Prehistoric era.

Scott started out with a pencil sketch, then inked the final line work. He then scanned the drawing and added some digital work in Paint Shop Pro.
