Scott completed the piece on February 16, 2017. He uploaded it to his DeviantART page the same day.
Subject and title[]
Scott wanted to draw a series of comic covers as if the classic RPG Chrono Trigger was published in comic book form, each cover depicting the events in the game's story. (Scott played Chrono Trigger on the Super Nintendo.)
In this issue, the story would be:
...the teams continued search for the Gate Key. After getting through the Forest Maze, they make their way into the Reptite's Lair where they encounter Winged Apes, Evilweevils, Shitakes, and other monsters, eventually reaching Azala and Nizbel.

Scott started out with a pencil sketch, then inked the final line work. He then scanned the drawing and added some digital work in Paint Shop Pro.
