Scott completed the piece on February 2, 2022. It was uploaded to his DeviantArt page the next day. On February 21, the pencil sketch was posted to his Patreon.
Subject and title[]
The character depicted in the piece is Valerie Mathis from the 1954 version of Ian Fleming's Casino Royale. Below is Scott's description of the piece from DeviantArt:
For those who don't recognize this Bond Girl, she was in the very first film adaptation of James Bond. It was an hour-long episode of the 1954 TV series Climax! The episode was an adaptation of Ian Fleming's Casino Royale in which "Jimmy Bond" was an American spy playing cards against Le Chiffre. Supposedly it was originally broadcast in color, but the only surviving copy is in black and white. Bond is played by Barry Nelson, Le Chiffre is played by the legendary Peter Lorre, and Valerie Mathis (the Bond Girl) is played by the beautiful Linda Christian. This is one in a series of Bond Girl drawings. (By the way, this is my 50th drawing in the series.)

Scott started out with a pencil sketch, then inked the final line work. He then scanned the drawing and colored it and inserted the text digitally in Paint Shop Pro.
