Big Bad Bowen, also known as Steve Bowen, is a fictional character created by W. Scott Pattullo that appears in his Missouri Avengers short film. He is a superhero crimefighter and leader of the Missouri Avengers team.
Biography
Childhood
Growing up in the 1980's, the young boy named Steve Bowen wanted to be a superhero. And even though his parents discouraged it, Steve grew up to be a superhero anyway, calling himself Big Bad Bowen.
Before the team
Big Bad Bowen performed many heroic acts including rescuing cats from trees. He also had a sidekick living in California named Scotty P who contacted him periodically to assist in locating criminals.
One day in 2009, Steve managed to get a date with someone he met online, a young lady named Katie. He was so excited that he had to blow off some energy and fight crime before the date. While jumping from rooftop to rooftop in St. Louis, Big Bad Bowen's sidekick Scotty P found a crime nearby that he could thwart. Dr. Villainous was attempting to rob a jewelry store.
Before the fight, the superheroine Hair Girl arrived on the scene, intending to do the same thing. At first, they argued about whose bad guys they were, but eventually fought side-by-side in order to stop Dr. Villainous and his goons. Afterward, they parted ways.
Later that night, Steve's date, Katie, turned out to be Hair Girl. And soon after, they were married, thus forming the superhero team Missouri Avengers.
Behind the scenes
Big Bad Bowen is based on W. Scott Pattullo's real-world friend Steve Bowen.
